UWI Guest Lecture by Prof. Jörg Drewes
On 5th October 2018 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg E. Drewes (Chair of Urban Water Systems Engineering Technical University of Munich) will give a talk with the title “Revisiting the Design and Operation of Biofiltration in Water Treatment” from 10 to 11 am TU Berlin, Chair of Water Quality Engineering (Room KF 406).

UWI Core Course 'Urban interface processes - fluxes, transport, interactions'
The UWI Core Course 'Urban interface processes - fluxes, transport, interactions' will take place from September 10 -17, 2018. For details on the content and locations please see the programme below.
The course is mandatory for UWI doctoral students and recommended for UWI kollegiates. Furthermore, interested master or doctoral students can also participate, but should get in contact with the UWI coordinator Dr. Gwendolin Porst or the course responsible Prof. Nützmann beforehand.

Welcoming Workshop for 2nd UWI Cohort
On 5 July 2018 a welcoming workshop for the 2nd UWI cohort will take place at the TUB TIB-area (Wedding) from 1 to 3 pm. The workshop will be followed by a short boat trip around the centre of Berlin.

The DFG Research Training Group on Urban Water Interfaces (UWI) invites to a guest lecture by Prof. Günter Blöschl (Institute of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering Vienna University of Technology, Austria) on Monday, 11th June 2018, 10 – 11 am, TU Berlin, TIB-area, building 25 (Treppe 1/staircase 1), room TIB25-220 with the title 'Flood generation - from the rain drop to the ocean'.
UWI at EGU 2018
From April 08 until April 13, 2018 the European Geosciences Union General Assembly (EGU) 2018 took place in Vienna, Austria. UWI was co-organising the session 'HS1.18: Urban hydrology: Physical and biogeochemical impacts of urbanization on hydrological systems' and present with a series of pico presentations and posters.
Short-course on River Basin Management
From 11th until 13th April there will be a short course on River Basin Management given by Dr. Hagen Koch (Potsdam Institute of Climate Impact Research) at the Chair of Water Resources Management and Modeling of Hydrosystems.

On 22nd March 2018, assist. Prof. Eiichi Furusato (Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saitama University, Japan) will give a talk with the title
“Stratified flow hydraulics and aquatic ecology as a basis for strategic water resource and environmental engineering - preventing harmful cyanobacteria blooms for sustainable development of the ecosystem and to mitigate the impact of future climate change on reservoirs”
from 2 to 3 pm at the IGB lecture hall, Müggelseedamm 310, 12587 Berlin.
