Visiting scientist programme
The UWI visiting scientist programme contributes to the excellence of the research training programme. It further supports already existing collaborations, and enhances the international visibility of the research training group (RTG). As part of the programme internationally recognised scientists are invited, among those many successful women in science and leadership positions which can serve as role-models for the female students, promising young postdoctoral students as well as experienced applied researchers and practitioners. The scientists stay in Berlin for periods ranging from a few days to a few months and give single lectures, a series of lectures during a whole semester, or short courses. Some of the visiting scientists contribute to the supervision of doctoral students, give recommendations for career development, and/or offer internships. Our doctoral students benefit from the direct contacts by obtaining new ideas for their research and by learning to discuss about their work.
See our News and events page for the latest information on guest lectures.
